Edward Eugene King, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1961, in Wyatt, Missouri, the son of Lewis King and Opal Kathrine (Park) King. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Januaary 16, 2026 at noon at Commerce Funeral Home. A committal service will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery.
Eugene was a family man who loved drinking and having a good time. He often went by the nicknames Blue or Popeye. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His wife, Tammy, of forty years, was his rock and he loved her unconditionally. He loved rock and roll music, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Credence Clearwater Revival.
Eugene attended high school at Agua Fria Union High, in Avondale, Arizona, graduating in 1979. He then served in the United States Army for six years, followed by one year in the National Guard.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tammy King; his son, Edward King, II (Margaret), two daughters, Savannah Garcia (Mike), and Wendy King; grandchildren, Michael Garcia, Emily Garcia, Abby Garcia, Angel Guerrero, and Arrian Guerrero; his brothers, Charles King (Debbie), Dale King (Sandy), John Thomas King (Diane), Bobby King, David King, and James King; sisters, Sue Irshad, Sarah Barreras, and Shirley King.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Bezold, his father, Lewis King, Sr., three brothers, Lewis King, Jr., Jimmy King and Donald King, and several nieces and nephews.
