Dr. Edward "Ed" Kiolbasa, age 99 of Stillwater, passed away peacefully in his home December 5, 2024. Ed was born on April 3, 1925 on a farm near Silver Creek, Nebraska to Frank and Barbara (Uzendoski) Kiolbasa. He was the second oldest of nine children. Ed served in the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Japan during the occupation. Ed was a greatly loved doctor in the St. Croix River Valley and was awarded the Minnesota Family Physician of the Year Award in 1991.
Ed will remain in the hearts of his sons Tom (Annie), Paul (Camille), and Joe (Nancy); grandchildren Zachary, Ben, Charlie (Kayla), Danny, Emily (Jake) Haymaker, Ed and Annie; great-grandchildren Joseph and Henry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine "Putt"; his parents; and siblings Sylvia Kubera, Frank, Rose Whyte, Raymond, Chester, Gene, Jeanette Kemper, and Marge Stuckey.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the Church of St. Michael, 611 3rd St. S, Stillwater, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass, at the church. Interment at St. Michael's Cemetery in Bayport. Ed's Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through The Churches of St. Michael & St. Mary Youtube page. Click this link to find the livestream.
