Edward W. Knight, of Citrus Springs, FL, died peacefully June 19, 2023 in Crystal River, FL.
He was born February 4, 1930 in Vero Beach, FL to Curtis L. Knight and Winnie Barker Knight.
Anyone who knew Edward, knew he was the most loving father a family could ask for, a sincerely caring neighbor, and friend you could always rely on. He always had a warmth about him, was a comfortable person to be around, and seemed to brighten any room with his presence. He was always willing to share a Bloody Mary and one of his many stories. He was a strong man who never lost his whimsy and the world was a better place with him in it. His lifelong love of the outdoors was only surpassed by the love for his family.
He is survived by his four children, Pamela K. Denmark (Tom), Paula K. Baker (Mark), Perry Knight (Shannon), all of Vero Beach, and Penny Knight of Citrus Springs, FL.
His eight grandchildren include, DeDe Meredith (Brad), Dana Colkitt (Chad), Stephanie Hurst (Gary), Sandy Baker (Lance), Meredith Coughlin (Marc), Tanner Knight (Samantha), Madigan Ohler (Mark), and Delaney Hickey (Mike), and nine great-grandchildren, Cody (Jacqui), Denver, Megan, Nathan, Grace, Jack, Sam, Brennan, and Erin.
He is further survived by his sister Diane Walters (Donald) and sisters-in-law, Tommie Holland and Betty Knight.
Edward was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Clara Knight, his parents, Curtis and Winnie Knight, and his brothers, Randolph and Robert Knight.
We have many memories of special times spent together that we will always cherish.
A family gathering to celebrate Edwards' life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, do a special act of kindness by giving to a charity of choice.
