Edward Francis Kruser, Sr., age 95, returned to God on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He was born in the town of Jamestown in Grant County, WI on November 12, 1928 to parents Bernard and Frances Kruser. He married his Valentine and the love of his life, Velma Leibfried, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1950. Together they ran a successful hog and dairy farm in Potosi, with Ed retiring at the age of 70. They were blessed with eleven children, 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Ed’s life was centered around his faith, family and the farm. In his retirement, he enjoyed cutting wood, going for early morning walks, making homemade chicken noodle soup and baking brownies.
Ed will now be reunited with his beloved wife, Velma, his son Ed Jr, his parents, his brothers: Gilbert and Lloyd, his business partner and good friend, Glen Pink, and deceased members of the Kruser and Leibfried family.
He is survived by his children: Dale (Teresa) Kruser, Deanne Kruser, Joe (Patti) Kruser, Shirley (Dan) Heger, Jeff (JoAnn) Kruser, Dennis Kruser, Lois (Rod) Molyneau, Beth (Dick Keene) Kruser, Jill (Jeff) Miller, and Aimee (Steve) Lochowitz, along with his brothers, Eldon Kruser, Cletus (Esther) Kruser, Harold Kruser, and Gerald (Vera) Kruser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Tennyson with Father Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Potosi. Visitation will be at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Tennyson from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of plants and flowers, an Edward F. Kruser, Sr. Memorial Fund has been established. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Potosi is assisting the family.
