POTOSI – Larry L. Yager, age 77, of Potosi, Wisconsin, passed away on December 27, 2025, at Lancaster Health Services in Lancaster. He was born on February 26, 1948, the son of Lloyd and Stella (Nickel) Yager.
“Looks like you drew your final card, it was another ace, it matched your other ace and the two eights in your hand. For a man who gambled his whole life confident of winning you missed few opportunities to make things right dad. My father on occasion had an ego that pushed Darrell Waltrip and Mike Ditka into second place but his passion for his purpose and determination was evident to all who knew him. His judgment was quick and simple, but he also inspired many. Being the only professor at LYU (Larry Yager University) he was able to enlighten many generations with the simplistic way the world works. One of his greatest enjoyments was turning kids into an operator that had just enough confidence that they would find their purpose in life, and this is how so many knew him. I guess there’ll be a lot less arguments on the depth wheel adjustment of the plow or how tight we need to set the baler. I will just have to second-guess some of those decisions myself; in the end you would admit it if you realized you were wrong anyways, but it typically took six months. He made sure his farm was also the last chance for every puppy dog that had bitten a few too many postal workers or the kid that had been put in a bad place and forced to make a bad choice. There was another side that very few had ever seen, and most would dismiss it as crazy, but those who knew it would call it a superpower. In the end “We are all Fractals of God.””
He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Lynn) Yager; his grandchildren: Hunter, William, Ayva and Brody; sister, Janet (Bob) Pohle; brother-in-law, Dave Mumm; and many nieces and nephews.
“Larry will be missed by many but none more than myself and Nancy who he spent the last great years with. I cannot thank her enough for her love, dedication, support and commitment.”
He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Eric Yager; his siblings: Helen Mumm, David A. Yager and his parents.
