Edward Lloyd Howard, 72, of Seymour, passed away on August 19, 2021, in Indianapolis.
He was born in 1949 to the late Edward H. and Dorothy E. (Cronquist) Howard in Rhode Island. Edward was the retired owner of Seymour Auto Supply and Ed's Golf Carts. He moved around often since his dad was an officer of the United States Navy. The place he spoke of the most was Kwajalein Island (Marhsall) Islands. While there, they hunted shells and loved the beach life. The family settled in Seymour after his father retired from the Navy. Ed went to work for his father at Seymour Auto Supply for many years until he purchased the business from him.

For several years, Ed drag raced and earned the nickname of "Fast Eddie". Once he retired from the auto parts business, he customized and repaired golf carts. He had a passion for old muscle cars, especially Dodge's, boating the river system, and sitting on the porch when it rained. He could fix anything and was often found working on a car, boat, or golf cart. His dog Scuppers was his favorite "person".

He was also a member and Past President of the Lions Club for many years, volunteering with care for eye donations, fruit sales, and the Oktoberfest booth. He was active with the Jackson County Historical Society and was instrumental in placing the train caboose at the Blish Mill.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sandy Howard; children, Lisa Kay (Eric) Wilson, Edward Brent Howard; stepchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Baltus and Chad Bruce; seven grandchildren, Victoria Howard, Connor Sabine, Luke Sabine, Theodore Stricker, Larissa Wilson, Addison Baltus, Kennedy Bruce; sisters Karol (William) Hope and Kristine (Arnold) Plant.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Torin Howard; sister, Karyn Howard; Glenda Oathout, mother of his children.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 10-11:30 AM at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be written to the Ed and Dorothy Howard Maintenance Fund for the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour, 950 N. O'Brien Street, Seymour, IN 46274.
