Edward was born on August 6, 1942, in Pearl River, New York. Edward completed his associate’s degree in automotive sciences from Morrisville College in New York. There he met the love of his life and made her his wife on March 10, 1963. He started his career as an auto mechanic and took his education and automotive experience and opened an auto parts store “Ed’s Custom Auto” in 1970.

Edward was an avid auto drag racing fan and even in the early days participated in professional series drag racing in upstate New York. He also enjoyed fly fishing and was known to be out on the river on the first day of trout season April 1st even with ice still along the banks!

Later, Edward and his wife also owned a boarding stable “Wishing Well Ranch”. After raising their girls Ed and Jackie retired to Melbourne, Florida for 20 years and then moved to New Bern, North Carolina to be closer to family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jacqueline; one sister, Linda DeGroat and husband Brooke of Windsor, New York; one brother, David Locke of Haines City, Florida; three daughters, Catherine “Holly” George and husband Curtis of Havelock, North Carolina, Cynthia “Cindy” Pietrzykowski and husband David of North Tonawanda, New York, and Tina Rowe and husband Clinton of Havelock, North Carolina; four granddaughters, Jacqueline Clay (Rowe) and husband Patrick Clay, Samantha Pietrzykowski, Elizabeth George and Abigail Pietrzkowski; one grandson, Jacob Rowe and fiancée Alysa Wallace; and one great-granddaughter Lyra Clay.

Edward was predeceased by his mother and father Edward Sr. and Dorthy (Terwilliger) Locke; two children, Edward III and Dennis of Valley Cottage, New York; and one grandchild, Sarah Pietrzykowski of North Tonawanda, New York.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Crystal Coast Hospice House, P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC 28570 or Misplace Mutts, P.O. Box 58, Beaufort, NC 28516.
