Edward Luppens

Edward Luppens, 76, of Largo, FL sadly passed on to a new life suddenly on June 7, 2024 surrounded by loving family members. Eddie was born on October 16, 1947 in Brooklyn NY. He grew up in Brooklyn as the third born of six children and was a graduate of St. John's Preparatory High School in Queens, NY.
After high school Eddie began working at Marcus and Company at the New York Stock Exchange where he stayed for many years - working his way up from a runner to a specialist trader. He spent the later years of his career as a regulatory specialist at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, retiring in 2014.
Eddie was a very generous person helping many people and never looking for acknowledgement. He enjoyed boating, biking, walking on the beach and spending time with friends and family. Eddie also had a green thumb and enjoyed growing delicious tomatoes. He lovingly cared for his grandmother's 100 year old Christmas cactus, which he created cutting plants for family members to enjoy. In his later years in Florida, Eddie developed a passion for cooking extensive recipes, juicing and making homemade ice-cream. Eddie was also an active member of the Rotary Club of Largo, FL helping to improve the community.
Eddie was a caring brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Luppens Sr. and Lorraine Lang Luppens, and his brothers Joseph Jr. and Kenneth. He is survived by his sisters, Sr. Kathleen Luppens, Lorraine Harasek, Sophie (Joseph) Anastasio and Sr. Anna Bocker. He is also survived by his children Kim, Brian and Alex and his grandchildren Taryn, Kierstan, Elijah and Owen. Eddie also had many nieces and nephews along with many grandnieces and grandnephews who will miss him dearly.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church on July 25, 2024 at 1pm at 48 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY 12771. Immediately followed by a committal service at St. Mary's Cemetery, 184 E Main Steet, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
