Edward F. Lynch, 92

WESTBOROUGH - Edward Francis Lynch, 92, of Westborough and formerly of Shrewsbury and Framingham, loving husband of Sarah Feeney Lynch of 65 years, born on October 6, 1928, passed quietly on Sunday, April 11th, 2021, Divine Mercy Sunday, surrounded by his family.

He attended Somerville Public schools, Huntington Prep (Northeastern University), and was a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He was a regular communicant at St. Georges Church in Framingham, and in his later years at St Anne's in Shrewsbury.

Ed was a gentle, kind and caring individual who enjoyed the simplicity in life. He always put others ahead of himself. He had three great loves, his Faith, his Wife and his Family. He was blessed with nine children, 23 grandchildren, preceded by his granddaughter our angel Colette Sullivan, and 8 great-grandchildren. His later years, he spent enjoying the activities of his grandchildren, such as sports, dancing, musicals, and church events.

Ed was a leader in the community, and his favorite way to show his support was through helping assist in starting the Framingham Pop Warner Football program, along with being a dedicated Little League Coach for many years. He was a Knights of Columbus member and a proud United States Marine.

He will be forever cherished in the lives of his children; Christopher, of Medway MA., (Susan), Colette Rooney, Upton, MA. (Michael), Edward Lynch, Medford, MA. (Kathleen), Richard Lynch, Upton, MA. (Kathleen), Catherine Sullivan, Shrewsbury, MA., (Dennis), Robert Lynch, Hopedale, MA., (Lisa), Nancy Publicover, Columbia, SC. (Jeffery), William Lynch, Mattapoisett, MA. (Maria), and Daniel Lynch, Northbridge, MA.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, April 15, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St. Upton. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham.

A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. in the church.

Facial coverings and social distancing are required while inside the church and at the cemetery. Please refrain from any physical contact with the family.

I still fondly recall family visits with "Uncle Ed" back in the 1950´s. They invariably put a smile on everyone´s face, as he invariably had a laugh and a kind word for everyone - especially us young ones. Both an inspiration and delightful and caring man.
