It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Leo Marek, who passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 89 in Santa Fe, Texas.

Edward was born on July 2, 1936, in Wallis, Texas, to the late Frank and Mary Marek. A man of strong work ethic and deep devotion to family, Edward built a life defined by dedication, love, and service. He was the founder of Santa Fe Water Services, where his hard work and leadership left a lasting impact on the community. Prior to opening his own business, he spent many years at Central Freight Lines.

Edward was the creator of the current girls' softball field in Santa Fe, TX. He also enjoyed his time as a girls' softball umpire while his daughters played and later his granddaughters.

Edward was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Whether casting a line, working the soil, or telling stories with family, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. Above all, Edward was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who deeply cherished his family.

He is survived by his loving children; daughters, Patsy Beall, Cynthia Sterling (Robbie), and son, Leo Marek. He leaves behind a proud legacy through his grandchildren; Karee Carter (Scott), Tim McKinzie, Raymond McKinzie (Elizabeth), George McKinzie (Jackie), Christopher Beall (Jodie), and Steven Beall (Whitney). Edward was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren; Sharon (Jake) and Ginny Murphy, Melanie, Kristyn, and Matthew Carter, Gage McKinzie, Colton Zaleski, Caleb, Cadin, and Alexisia McKinzie, MaKinley, Piper, Hayden, and Madison Beall, Andrew, Lauren, and Lea Venegas, Rylee and Johnny Ritchie, Harley Maricle, and Danika Deshotel. Longtime family friends, Tommie and Lorri Clendenin, Rachelle (Sam), Tony and Tommie Gray, Roberta (Cale) and Leo Yingling of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, BB Ann Marek; his children, Edward, Jr. and Christine; his parents, Frank and Mary Marek; sister, Sidney Smesny; brothers, Raymond, Bernard, Adolf, and Johnny Marek.
