Edward Simon "Eddie" Martinez

Edward Simon Martinez ("Eddie") was born on June 3, 2001, in Fountain Valley, CA, to Lesley Alcaraz and Simon "Junior" Martinez. Eddie tragically left us on January 1, 2024, at the age of 22.
Eddie leaves behind a loving family: his daughter, Athena Martinez, and her mom Jade Ledezma; Mother and Husband, Lesley & Josh Alcaraz; "Pops" and Wife, Simon "Junior" Martinez and Linda Ramirez; Brothers, Andrew Martinez and Lil Josh Alcaraz; Aunts, Lisa and Leandra Contreras; Uncle, Adrian Contreras; Nephew, Jaxon Martinez; Grandparents, Adolfo Olivares and Lidia Rodriguez, and a close-knit family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Born with an underdeveloped esophagus (Esophageal Atresia), Eddie found his first home in the NICU at CHOC hospital in Orange, CA. Overcoming this complex condition, he underwent multiple surgeries before the age of 2. Affectionately known as "Fast Eddie," the CHOC hospital staff adored his cute face and joyful nature.
Eddie grew up in Orange, CA. He was known for his curly hair, athletic thin build, and good looks. Eddie was a free spirit and was always good at brightening up the room with his smile. Eddie had a passion for playing sports, basketball in particular, and was very competitive in everything he did. Eddie had an immense love for animals, in particular his bunny Oreo. Eddie was also an aspiring rapper. Known for being adventurous, fearless, kind-hearted, and charming, Eddie left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Eddie and Jade met in 2016 and had Athena Martinez on 02/10/2021. Eddie loved his daughter with all his heart. He was thankful for every day he got to spend with her.
A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held on Friday, January 26th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Saddleback Chapel, 220 E Main St, Tustin, CA 92780. Eddie will be laid to rest at the Santa Ana Cemetery, 1919 E Santa Clara Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705, immediately afterward
