Edward Mathis Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lula Mathis; his grandparents, Grandma and Grandad Mosby; and his beloved brother, John Franklin.
Edward is survived by his children, Stephanie Hearrold (Bill) and Robert Mathis (Heather); his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily, who lovingly knew him as Papa; his sister, Joyce Greer; and his faithful dog, Abby.
A proud U.S. Air Force sergeant, Edward went on to work in management with the Sears & Roebuck Company. He was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, an avid fisherman, and a patient teacher who introduced a generation to water skiing at Table Rock Lake.
Table Rock Lake held a special place in Edward's heart. Many of his happiest days were spent on the water, teaching others to ski and casting a line at sunrise.
Edward will be remembered for his steady kindness, quick humor, and deep love for his family. He will be eternally missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
