Ed McArthur, 82 of Smith, Kentucky, was born on September 22, 1942, and went to receive his Heavenly reward on Friday, February 7, 2025, with his family by his side. He loved attending the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church at Smith, KY where he was a member, he loved tending to his garden and was a beekeeper. He is a retired coal miner, a loving father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Hensley McArthur; his parents, Robert and Etta McArthur; his brother, Luke McArthur and his sister, Pat Pace Smith.
He is survived by his children, David (Amy) McArthur and Donna (Hart) Spurlock. His grandchildren, Alan Paul (Stephanie) McArthur, Liza (Mack) Vanover, Mary Beth Stepp and Jacob (Anna) Spurlock. His seven great grandchildren, Brantley McArthur, Ellis Stepp, Nora Stepp, Landon Spurlock, Jacob Reed Spurlock, Vivian Vanover and Tessa Vanover. His sister, Rebecca Grubbs. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, family friends and his church family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, February 10th in the Chapel of Henson & Rich Funeral Home beginning at 5PM with services following at 6 o'clock with Rev. Clarence Ramsey officiating.
Memorial contributions suggested to St Jude Children's Hospital P.O. Box 1999 Memphis, TN. 38101.
