Edward Kevin McGarry ObituaryEdward Kevin McGarry (October 18, 1946 - March 11, 2025)
Morris - Edward Kevin McGarry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025 following his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, two sons Michael and Mark and grandchildren Jack, Matthew and Lydia and step grandson Landon. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Davies and brother, Francis McGarry.
Kevin's life was enriched by his love for the outdoors, passion for reading, affinity for sports and the colorful stories he shared with his family about growing up in Green Pond and South Orange, New Jersey. His enjoyment of music, gardening and UConn basketball fandom lives on through his family who will dearly miss his infectious laughter and sense of humor. He was a lively host for holidays and family events at his Morris residence with an uncanny ability to make all participants feel welcome.
Kevin earned his Bachelor's degree from St. Anselm College in New Hampshire. Kevin was a property manager, carpenter, landscaper and gardener; he took pride in his work and loved making connections with interesting people from different backgrounds. Kevin was an enthusiastic hobbyist. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his dogs, kayaking, hiking, sailing, photography, reading and playing the guitar among others.
Kevin did not want formal funeral services but a picnic to celebrate his life will be organized later this year. Details to be shared in advance.
