Saturday, August 2, 2025, at age 84. She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Charles Rex McGarry; brother, Jennings (Patricia) Prunty; dear aunt, Dot Ringer. She is survived by her children, Ginny (Charlei) Heschke, Loretta (Glenn) Kramer, Charles E. (Joyce) McGarry, and Deborah Holley; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Arnosia Butler, Gary Prunty, and Pamela Prunty; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Erma was born in West Virginia. Erma married the man of her dreams in 1957. They moved to Rochester shortly after they married with not much to their name.
She had 4 children then went to work to make a better life for them. She had worked 10 years for Bausch & Lomb and then went to Kodak where she had worked almost 35 years. She retired to take care of her husband when he had lung cancer. She was then a widow. She loved her family and helped all of us when we needed it. She was such a caring and loving person. Her family all thought the world of her. She will always be in our hearts and we will miss her so much.
Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 4:00- 7:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On THURSDAY, August 7, all are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment, Machpelah Cemetery (LeRoy, NY). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Patrick Place, 2006 Scottsville-Chili Road, Scottsville, NY 14546 (https://patrickplace.org) in her memory.
