Edward King McKellar, Jr., born on July 15, 1960, in Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully from natural causes on September 10, 2025, in the same beloved community where he spent his life. He was 65 years old.

Edward graduated from Ben L. Smith High School in 1978. He was a gifted painter and handyman, who dedicated much of his life to refurbishing houses, leaving behind a legacy of beautifully restored homes that stand as a testament to his skill and dedication. Beyond his professional work, Edward found joy and freedom in riding his bicycle, exploring the world on two wheels. He had a well-known fondness for good food, delighting particularly in cheeseburgers, meatloaf, sweets, and ice cream.

A man of faith, Edward was an active member of the Power House of Deliverance, where he found both spiritual fulfillment and a sense of community.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward King McKellar, Sr., and Helen Grace Pittman McKellar. He is survived by his siblings: Linda McKellar Hairston and her husband Frank, La'Sheila McKellar, Benita McKellar Thompson and her husband Stephen, Antonio McKellar, Sr. and his wife Marsha, and Christopher McKellar. He is also remembered with great affection by a special family member and caregiver, Jada Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many family members and friends.

A celebration of Edward's life will be held at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at two o'clock in the afternoon, with Pastor Marcus Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.

Edward will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those whose lives he touched.
