Edward Alan Moore, age 85, passed away on July 1, 2025 @11:50AM at the Michigan Veterans Home in Grand Rapids, MI. He is survived by Sally (Chatterson) Moore, his wife of 61 years, son Jeffrey Moore and wife Janet (Gingrich) Moore, son Timothy Moore and wife Cheryl (Wnuk) Moore. Grandchildren Devyn, Ross, Austin, Haley and a great grandchild - Baker Thomas Moore & Stepsister in law Pam Bartholomew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn Harmon and Robert Moore. Sister and brother-in-law Lois and Andy Sidock. Father-in-law and mother-in-law Bill & Cecilia Chatterson, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Patricia Chatterson. He left many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed worked as a clerk at the US Post Office for 36 years and was in the US Navy from 1956 through 1958.
Our family wants to give gracious thanks to Michigan Veterans Home Grand Rapids and their wonderful staff for the excellent care they provided for our father.
A special thanks to Faith Hospice for the loving care they gave Ed throughout his journey.

A funeral will be held for Edward A. Moore, on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:00AM with visitation from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Parish 425 S State St, Sparta, MI 49345.
A luncheon will be after the funeral in the community center attached to the church.

I worked at the Post Office also and remember Ed very well. He was always such a pleasure to interact with. I never saw him in anything but a great mood. Always laughing and making you feel better because you talked to him. He was the "Red Poppy' man every year for the veterans. The world lost a great man. My sincere condolences to his family.

This hurts. Ed was my wife's uncle, and Uncle Ed was the best. This whole family is amazing. I love them so much. Every family gathering they had I looked forward to because I knew this man would be there to talk to. Everyone may have made fun of how much he talked, but I personally loved it. Loved every moment. My heart goes out to the family/ my family. I love you all. Rest in peace, and keep the jokes going Uncle Ed.
