Edward J. Moran of The Villages, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was born in Scranton, PA on June, 29, 1937 to the late Earl and Winifred Moran. When he wasn’t working, Ed enjoyed spending time at his 2nd home on the Susquehanna River in Wyalusing, PA. He spent his weekends fishing, he even hosted an annual fishing contest for family/friends for many years.
Ed retired in December 1997 and moved to The Villages with his wife Margaret (Hvasta) to pursue their dream of a life of leisure. He enjoyed playing golf, taking his morning walks and visits from his family and friends. He relaxed by playing his guitar and writing songs, stories and rhymes.
In addition to his wife, of 67 ½ years Marge; he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Mary; and his two grandsons Braeden and Garrett. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joseph, Thomas, Eugene, Eleanor and Marie.
A Mass will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL at a later date and burial will be in Pennsylvania. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
