Edward Murphy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 29, 2026.
Rollinsford, NH – Edward J. Murphy III, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 22nd, 2026 at the age of 84. He was born June 15, 1941, in Malden, Massachusetts, the son of Edward and Marguerite (Carter) Murphy.

Edward served in the Air Force for 22 years with stations in Syracuse, Plattsburg, Montana, Iceland, Germany and finally Pease, where he retired as Wing Executive Officer. He often reflected fondly about coordinating logistics of events such as the Pease Air Show. In 1985 he began a second 25 year career with Service Credit Union, retiring as Executive Vice President.

He is pre-deceased by his wife of 56 years, Beverly Murphy (Howe) and survived by their three children, Craig and his wife Jordana, Scott, and Kristen and her husband Bryan; along with 7 grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Aliyah, Joshua, Nicole, Jack and Charlie; 2 great grandchildren, Luna Hilton and Fiona Murphy; his sister Judy Kincaid, brothers Jim Murphy and Dennis Murphy; and nieces and nephews.

Edward was proud of his career journeys, kept active with golf, and enjoyed balancing time between his lake house and his home in Florida. Above all else, Edward treasured time with his family, making them the center of his world and the source of his greatest happiness. He emanated joy, was the life of the party, and genuinely connected with everyone he met.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Milton Three Ponds Protective Association, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization supporting Milton Three Ponds.

Ed was always so friendly and kind to both myself as well as the entire pro shop staff at PCC. Upon his arrival at the club , he always had a smile on face and never complained about anything . He was an absolute gentleman in all ways . So sad you had to leave us Ed, thoughts and prayers to all your family and friends.
Sincerely , Billy Andrews
