Camille Murphy (born Camille Margaret Costanza) passed away peacefully in the
early morning hours of January 24th, 2026, at Bridges by Epoch Memory Care
Assisted Living in Mashpee, Massachusetts. She was 93 years old.
Camille issurvived by her two sons, Christopher Murphy of Truro, Massachusetts and
Douglas Murphy and his wife Rita of Chula Vista, California, her two
granddaughters Alyssa Murphy of Lemon Grove, California and Megan Armitage
and her husband Samual of Fort Worth, Texas and her great granddaughter
Katherine Armitage, her nephew Patrick Aldrich of Inlet Beach, Florida and his wife Maureen and her
niece Abigail Homiller of Westwood, Massachusetts and her husband Jacob, her
two grandnieces Emily Homiller and Olivia Homiller of Boston, Massachusetts
and her grandnephew William Homiller of Westwood, Massachusetts.
Camille was born on June 7th, 1932, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Beatrice and George
Costanza. She graduated from Girl's Latin School (currently Boston Latin
Academy) in 1949 and Jackson College of Tufts University 1953 with a Bachelor
of Arts Degree and she returned to school and obtained her Master's in Education
from Syracuse University. She became a teacher with The Syracuse City School
District in 1970 where she taught third and fourth grade students for 25 years at
Seymour and Danforth schools respectively. She was a member of the Everson
Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York. She enjoyed her membership at the
Onondaga Country Club, where she was a member of the Social, Pool, Tennis and
Paddle Tennis Committees, a member of the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the
founder of the Tufts Club Book Award Program, a member of the City of Dennis,
Massachusetts Historical Society, a volunteer at both the Jacob Sears' Library and
the Dennis Public Library. She was an antique enthusiast and had a lifelong love
for cats. Nantucket and Cape Cod.
She was a voracious reader and loved the beach, especially those on
