Edward Leo Nowak, age 70; Beloved son of the late Stanley Nowak and Winnie Nowak, nee Mueller; Loving brother of the late Mary Nowak, the late Dianne (the late Brad) Bronzell, the late Stanley "Jack" (Michelle) Nowak, and the late Nancy (the late Ron) Goreham,; Dear uncle of Jeff, Kevin, Laura, Kathy, Michelle, Rick, Sharon, Sue, Jenny, David, Sean, the late Mike, Matt, the late Jacob, Brad, Mario, Tony, and Angela;
Ed was born in Minneapolis and moved to Chicago where he grew up in the Wrightwood neighborhood at St. Thomas More Parish. He spent 50 years in service of the Catholic Church as a musician and choir director; His musical work has been published, and he has spent a lifetime perfecting his craft. Ed had an unparalleled focus when he was working on his music, and his choir performances left you feeling the glory of God. Ed was the king of board games at family parties and he had a passion for movies. He was known to travel to movie scene locations from some of his favorite movies.
Visitation Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 9:30 A.M. to time of Funeral Mass 11 A.M. at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 436 West Avenue, Elmhurst; Interment St. Mary Cemetery; Information 708-430-5700.
