Edward "Sonny" B. Olbrish Jr.

Edward "Sonny" aka "Pap" Olbrish Jr, 76, of Mount Carmel passed away Thursday September 4th at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville surrounded by his family following a long illness.

Born in Shamokin on March 6, 1949 he was the son of the late Mildred (Suchcicki) and Edward B. Olbrish Sr.

Ed was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont.

He graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School in 1966. He worked as a welder for various local companies over the years.

Ed was the husband of Diane C. (Kobilis) Olbrish, they were married on November 30, 1968 at the former St. Joseph's Church in Mount Carmel.

He enjoyed hunting deer, exercise and listening to the oldies. Ed was also an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; daughter Renee Olbrish in 1978; brother Clement E. Olbrish; sister Christine "Tina" Lucas.

Surviving are; wife Diane C. Olbrish, Mount Carmel; son Edward "Eddie" A. Olbrish; daughter Deanna Slovick (Ron; 2 grandchildren Jonathan & Abby Slovick who he was very proud of their accomplishments; sister Marian Stewart; nieces & nephews.

Services will be private at his family's request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward's memory to Holy Angels Church-Memorial Fund, 855 Scott St, Kulpmont PA 17834.
