Edward J. Palmer, 81, of Millbury and formerly of Whitinsville passed away Thursday July 4, 2024 in UMass Medical Center, Worcester with his family by his side. He was the husband of Irene M. (Dondzila) Palmer.
Mr. Palmer was employed as a truck driver for St. Johnsbury Consolidated Trucking Company, retiring in 2003. He had previously been employed at Preston Trucking. Mr. Palmer worked part time for Blackstone Valley Golf Course, A. Dewey-Pyle Co. and ATG Trucking in Shrewsbury.
Mr. Palmer was born November 24, 1942 in Milford, the son of the late Curtis and Christina (Riley) Palmer. He attended Mendon School and had served in the MA National Guard.
Mr. and Mrs. Palmer's 52nd wedding anniversary was celebrated on September 25th.
Mr. Palmer was a member of the Teamster's Union Local # 170, a Communicant of St. Patrick's Church of Whitinsville and a member of Solomon's Temple Lodge AF and AM in Uxbridge.
In addition to his wife Irene, Edward is survived by one daughter, Jennifer D. and her husband Kevin Leonard of Sutton; one sister Margaret Parkinson of Whitinsville and 2 grandchildren, Courtney and Kyleigh. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine I. Palmer.
Visiting hours will be Friday, July 19, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM in the Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville followed by a graveside service at 11:30 AM in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
