Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral & Cremation Services - DelhiEdward Thomas Paul, known to the grandchildren as "Pickle", born on July 29, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025. He lived a life dedicated to his family, community, and craft as an Elevator Mechanic, always displaying an unwavering commitment to those around him.
Ed was a proud father of six children: Jeffrey (Merry), Nancy (Ken), Donald (Cheryl), Amy (late Tom), Anthony (Dianne), and Edward (Victoria). His legacy continues through his 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will cherish the memories and wisdom he imparted to them.
Throughout his life, Ed strived for excellence in everything he pursued. He was a dedicated member of the North Bend Lodge #346 F&AM and served as the Past President of the Delhi Athletic Association, during which he celebrated multiple City Championships with the Delhi Eagles. His spirit was further illuminated by his love for the Cincinnati Reds, a pastime that gathered friends and family alike. Ed enjoyed fondly referring to himself as the "Mayor of Delhi," indicating the depth of his pride and connection to his community.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margot (nee Bayer), whose memory lives on in the hearts of their family. St. Bernard is a special place to the couple. This is where he met his high school sweetheart, Margot and where he excelled in athletics and she led the cheerleading squad.
Ed also joins his parents James and Ethel Paul and his siblings Will, Robert, James, Helen, Edna, and Dorothy in eternal rest.
A visitation with family will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238. Following the visitation, a Masonic Service will be held at the same location, beginning at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, in honor of his wife Margot, memorials may be made to the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. (https://cincyblind.org/)
Edward Paul will be remembered as a loving family man and a respected figure in his community, whose contributions and spirit will not be forgotten.
