It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad, papa, brother, pastor, and friend, Edward "Wes" Pavy, who went home to be with the Lord December 1, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and spent his formative years in Santa Ana, California, where he graduated from Saddleback High School in 1969.
Wes dedicated his life to serving the Lord and others through his work in ministry and as a counselor for drug and alcohol addiction. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Christian Education from Christian University in Arizona, he continued his studies at Denver Seminary, where he received his Master's degree in Christian Counseling. He was also licensed in drug and alcohol counseling through the Parkside Program. He then went on to work at West Pines as the program manager for their addiction program. He had a profound impact on many lives throughout his career.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Russell and Doris Pavy, who instilled in him the values of compassion and service that he carried throughout his life.
Wes is survived by his wife, Sherrill, his daughter, Amanda Rochelle Pavy, his son, Joshua Randall Pavy, his stepchildren, Jennifer Ramsey, Christopher Bath, Benjamin Bath, and Rebecca (Rob) Wilburn. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon (Roy) Oswandal, Roberta (Ted) Thomson, and his grandchildren, Lauren Bath, Maysun Steinhauser, Breckyn (Dawn) Ramsey, and Belle Geist, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In the spring, we will hold a celebration of Wes's life, bringing together family and friends to honor his memory, reflect on the wonderful moments we shared, celebrate the impact he had on our lives, and reminisce about the stories and all the "dad jokes" that made us smile.
Wes will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to helping others, and the endless love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of kindness, compassion, and hope that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
