Edward Prouhet died unexpectedly August 5, 2025 at his residence in St. Peters, MO. He was 82 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth, his son & wife, David and Rosa (Palomo) and 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, and Alexa; Edward is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the youngest of 5 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Jenny (Hatina) Prouhet and brothers Leonard, William, Raymond and sister, Jenny.
Born in Bridgeton, MO to a farming family, he attended Hazelwood, graduated from SIU Alton and a Master’s from Kansas University. He was a nuclear physicist and worked for Boeing before retiring.
He loved motorcycles from an early age and took great pleasure riding them throughout his life, with multiple trips out west. When he decided to quit cycle riding, bicycles became his passion, recently acquiring an electric one.
He loved to mow the lawn, trim bushes and grow flowers. He won the “Garden of the Month” award. He loved stuff. He could repair anything, a true “Jack of All Trades” though electronics were his specialty.
We loved to laugh, his quick wit was part of his character. He enjoyed doing many church activities, but his favorite was meeting and greeting on Sunday mornings at church. He loved to help people. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the First Baptist Church of O’Fallon.
He was dearly loved by the people at First Baptist Church of O’Fallon. He will be greatly missed.
