The world lost a bright light on June 18th, 2023, as Edward Joseph Recor slipped quietly into the great beyond. Known affectionately as "Ed," he was a man of many passions, a storyteller, and a lover of laughter. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones that will never be filled.
Born in Westfield, Massachusetts on March 4th, 1944, to Bertha and Edward Recor, he was a man who knew the value of hard work and dedication. His father's passing, years ago, left a hole in his life that he could never quite fill. A gap that his own passing now reopens.
But Ed was also a man of great faith, a devout Catholic who found solace in the teachings of his church. His devotion to his God and his family never faltered, even in the face of life's greatest challenges.
Ed was a man who loved the simple things in life, like the feel of the wind rushing through his hair as he rode his beloved motorcycle. He was a man who enjoyed the company of others, who found joy in the laughter of his grandchildren and the stories of his friends.
In his later years, Ed found solace in raising chickens and playing checkers, taking pleasure in the simple tasks that filled his days. He walked the beach, the sand between his toes, and gazed out at the endless sea, contemplating the mysteries of life and death.
Ed's passing has left a hole in the hearts of his family, who will forever be touched by his kindness, his humor, and his love. His wife, Christine; his three sons, Brian (Kristine), Joseph, and Randy (Brittney) and his 14 grandchildren will remember him always as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Ed's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering faith will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort. May he rest in peace, forever in the loving embrace of his God.
