Edward Robertson was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 21, 1941. Due to a family member's enlistment in the military who was sent to England, Edward was able to graduate from (An American) Central High School located near London, England. The curriculum was challenging. Seniors were informed that the curriculum was equivalent to two years of college. Edward also ran track in high school. He broke this school's track record in 1959.
Edward loved to sing. He had a beautiful tenor voice, and he loved singing at the church. He also loved classical music. Edward worked as a Psychiatric Nurse and retired after 29 1/2 years of service. Via correspondence, Edward completed many nursing certifications from Rutgers University. He excelled on his exams often getting the highest score. He was the primary caregiver for his late mother, Annie. Edward loved the Lord, and he read his bible and prayed daily. Edward was a wonderful son and brother who will be dearly missed and always loved.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Cobbs; brother, Monty Cobbs; niece, Clarice. He is survived by his sister, Diana Walker; brother, Carlos Cobbs; niece, Lisa Ludaway, her husband Godfrey Ludaway; great-nieces Eva and Shianne, and other relatives.
We are grateful to the Columbus Division of Fire Emergency Squad, Lisa and Godfrey Ludaway, and all those who prayed and expressed sympathy and kindness. Your thoughtfulness and prayers are greatly appreciated.
