Edward George Ronsick, 90, transitioned from this world to his permanent eternal home with the Lord and Savior on December 18, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and dedication to both his family and faith.
Edward was born on May 14, 1935, in Washington, Missouri to Edwin and Alma Ronsick (nee: Buckholz). He graduated from Washington High School and earned a basketball scholarship to the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. During his time at college, he was given a commission to the Army ROTC and became an artillery officer before earning an honorable discharge. His love for his country was only superseded by his love of God and of his family. Edward spent almost all of his career with Milliken in Spartanburg, retiring as director of marketing.
Edward's faith was a central pillar in his life. He served as head usher for many years at Evangel Cathedral, Restoration Church, and Hope Church. He was a founding board member of the Evans Training center, a Christ-centered men's recovery facility in Lyman, SC.
Edward was devoted to his family and sharing in their celebrations throughout the years, often traveling long distances to attend. He shared his love of Jesus with all he met and spread Christ's love on the golf course and racquetball court. His contributions to family, community, and church will not be forgotten and reflect a life devoted to love, service, and faith.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Claudia Ronsick (nee: Peterson); his sister, Janice Toben (Robert); and his brother, Larry (Trudy).
Edward is survived by his wife of 17 years, Darleen Berry Ronsick, of Spartanburg, SC, daughter, Hannah Rees (Christopher) of Perkasie, PA; and stepdaughters Lisa Broadwater (Gary) of Spartanburg, SC; Elizabeth Hendricks (Roderick) of Charlotte, NC; Joni Mullins of Spartanburg, SC, and Deborah Hild (Donald) of Spartanburg, SC. Edward was a beloved grandfather, or "Pa," to Matthew, Michael, Caroline, and Catherine Magee; Elizabeth "Betsy" and Margaret "Maggie" Rees; and John, Jordan, Nicole, and Macayla Hendricks.
Receiving of friends for Edward Ronsick will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 2:30-4:00 PM at Hope Church, 102 John Dodd Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM.
