Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday January 31 from 4-7 PM.
A funeral procession will form Saturday, 9 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church.
Military Honors will follow at the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
Edward "Wes" Seche, 89, of Kingston died peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Mountain Valley Manor. He was born on November 2, 1935 in Kingston, New York, the son of the late Edward Wesley Seche, Sr. and Mary Ferraro Seche.
Wes served our country in the United States Navy from 1956-1962. He returned home and began work at IBM at both the Kingston and Poughkeepsie locations. Wes retired in 1991 and was a proud member of their Quarter Century Club. Following his retirement, Wes worked at several local restaurants, including his brother's Ugly Gus Café. Active in the Town of Kingston, Wes served as the Town Clerk for twelve years and was also Town Councilman and Highway Superintendent. He was also a member of the Hidden Valley Lodge, Highwoods Sportsmen's Club and Sawkill Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Assistant Chief. Additionally, Wes was an active member of the Ulster County Highway Superintendents Association, Ulster County Italian Americans Foundation, and the Ulster County Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 1. A longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Kingston, Wes was a daily communicant for years. He also served as chaplain for the American Legion Post 1748, until recently.
Surviving are his daughters, Pamela Seche Gaffney and her husband Daniel of Kingston and JoAnn Goldsmith and her husband Craig of Amesbury, MA; grandchildren, Brendan Gaffney of Boston, MA, Bernadette Gaffney Ridley (Adam) of Northborough, MA, and Molly Rose Gaffney (fiancé, Jack Celuch) of Albany, NY. Great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine Ridley. Wes is also survived by his siblings, Thomas Seche (Virginia) of Hurley, NY, Claudia Seche of Montclair, NJ, Steven Seche (Susan) of Vienna, VA and Chris Seche (Vincenza) of Hurley, NY and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Faye in 2011 and longtime companion, Linda Combs Akins.

My deepest sympathys to Wes's family I knew through the Ugly Gus restaurant,anytime I would see him we would have a great conversation and he would tell me about his grand children of which he was so proud of,glad to read they are all grown and married.
