William (Bill) Evans Jr.

William V. "Bill" Evans Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 87.

Bill graduated from Kingston High School in 1956 and went on to attend Drew University, where he earned a degree in Education in 1962. He later received a master's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. In 1968, Bill began a long and dedicated career with IBM in Kingston, New York, a position that eventually took him and his family to Raleigh, North Carolina.

Following his retirement, Bill and his late wife, Mary Louise, returned to the peaceful surroundings of Harvey's Lake, Pennsylvania. There he enjoyed a simple and fulfilling life, spending time on his front porch reading, attending music festivals, and pursuing his passion for photography. He was a familiar presence at the annual Edwardsville Eisteddfod, where he delighted in photographing the contestants and celebrating the talents of others.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Louise Thomas Evans. He is survived by his two daughters, MaryBeth Evans Williams and her husband Kevin Williams of Asheboro, North Carolina, and Judy Evans Peterson and her husband Kendall Peterson of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Victoria Herman and Regan Peterson.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held Father's Day weekend at Harvey's Lake, Pa.
