Edward William Stevenson 79, of Cranston passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 12, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital with his family by his side. Born in East Providence he was the son of the late Victor J. and Mary V. (Goddard) Stevenson, and husband of the late Yvette J. (Pellisson) Stevenson. They had been married for 46 years.

Edward was a graduate of Johnson & Wales University and worked as an accountant. Later in life, he became a self-employed craft vendor where everyone knew him as "Eddy". Edward also served as a peacetime member of the United States Air Force.

Edward loved music and going to concerts, (especially attending concerts by his favorite musical artist Bob Dylan), working at the craft fairs, reading, cooking, family gatherings, socializing with friends, Ford Mustang cars, singing his favorite songs at karaoke, making people laugh with his great sense of humor and donating blood.

He leaves his beloved children and their spouses; Francesca (David) Austin of Attleboro, MA, Chantal (Robert) Poschmann of Northbridge, MA, Victor J. Stevenson of Warwick, and Claude Payen of Paris, France, sister MaryJane Jaklitsch of Sayville, Long Island, NY as well as his seven grandchildren; Victoria, Stephanie and Ryan Austin, Olivia and Michael Poschmann and Brianna and Andrew Stevenson.

His life will be celebrated with calling hours on Sunday August 17, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm in The Butterfield Chapel 500 Pontiac Avenue Cranston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 18, 2025 at 10:00am in Saint Paul Church One St. Paul Place Cranston.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that blood donations be made to the Rhode Island Blood Center.
