Edward "Ed" Charles Struhs, 82, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Franklin Grove Nursing Center, in Franklin Grove, IL. He worked as an Electrician for Northwestern Steel & Wire, and after retiring from Northwestern, he became the proud Owner of Illini Trophy.
Ed was born on July 13, 1942, in Dixon, the son of Charles "Hap" and Anne (Hoffman) Struhs. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and watching their sporting events. Ed loved boating, fishing, and woodworking. He also enjoyed his Tuesday morning breakfasts with his good buddy John.
Ed is survived by his children, Tracey (Rob) Linboom, Todd (Amy) Struhs, Chad (Kristen) Struhs; one brother, Jim Struhs; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matt) Wittenberg, Nolan Struhs, Graham Struhs; and two great-grandchildren, Aeriss Williams, Tanner Williams.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Hap and Anne Struhs; and his three brothers, Bobby Struhs, Tom Struhs, Joe (Jamie) Struhs.
There will be no services, per Ed's wishes. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL, and/or Dixon Fire.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
