Edward Turrill, 77, of Ashland City, TN passed away on January 3, 2025 at his home.
Ed was born to the late Merle Turrill & late Ula Gautreau in Marietta, Ohio on May 8, 1948. Ed graduated from Warren High School (Vincent, Ohio) in 1967. He and Betty were married in 1969 after meeting on a blind date. Ed was very proud of his career at American Wire and Cable, where he started sweeping the floors and worked his way up, through many promotions, to moving his family and opening & operating the TN division (Tennessee Wire & Cable) as Plant Manager in 1986. Ed retired from this position in the mid 90s to open Mid-South Signs & Graphics in Ashland City. Ed enjoyed working alongside his son and being a part of the community; the sign shop was a great joy for him for 20 years. Ed was a loving husband, an involved father, and fun PawPaw. He enjoyed many years of hunting, and playing golf, and was always involved with coaching both baseball and football as his kids grew up. He also enjoyed drag racing in his younger days. Outside of work, Ed led a life filled with volunteerism at Big Brothers Big Sisters, entrusting his knowledge and work ethic to the younger generation. Ed left this world surrounded by loved ones after a Christmas celebration and enriched every individual leaving them as better versions of themselves.
Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Turrill; two children, Aaron Turrill (Jennifer) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Shannon Mitsouras (Dimitrius) of Mooresville, NC; three brothers, David Turrill (Michelle) of Elyria, OH, Ron Yeakle (JoAnne) of Metter, GA, and Chris Gautreau of Jacksonville, FL; and five grandsons, Christopher Turrill, Joshua Turrill, Cooper Turrill, Uly Mitsouras, and Eddie Mitsouras.
Ed was preceded in death by one sister, Cheryl Williams.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in Eds memory to the Bethesda Center in Ashland City or the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
