Edward L. Warrington

Edward Lee Warrington was born in Pasadena, CA on November 16, 1938 to Harold & Dolly Warrington. He passed away two days before his 86th birthday on November 14, 2024 in Sarasota, Florida. Ed (or Butch as he was called my much of his extended family) was survived by his wife, Monica Mullins, his Children Dana Hancock (Rick) & Joe Warrington, his grandchildren Chase Hancock (Hannah), Amber Moody (Dylan), Clay Hancock & Terra Warrington as well as 3 great grandchildren: Brooks, Beau & Adaline.
Ed and his parents lived in CA until he was 6 years old, when the family moved to the farm in Austin, Minnesota. Once on the farm his parents have two more children; Craig Warrington (deceased) and Ramona Walker. Ed had literally dozens of cousins and they were all very close; and those that are left still are.
After graduation, he went into the Navy and served for 4 years. From the Navy he went to work in computer programming, and a few years later Warrington Associates opened a computer programming company in 1967 in Minneapolis. He married Kathy McGarry in 1965 and they had their first child (Michael, deceased) later that year. Dana came along in 1967 and Joe in 1969.
He grew his company and opened a 2nd location in Birmingham, AL, which later became his residence. In 1985 he sold the company and retired to Destin, FL. He married Melia Warrington in 1993, sadly she passed in 2003.
They moved to Sarasota in 2000, and Ed loved living here. He was a long-time member of Gator Creek Golf Club. He loved deep sea shing, boating, golfing and being with friends and family. He lived a very active life and loved to travel. He loved Alabama football, Fox News and Crown Royal. He married Monica Mullins in 2022.
Anyone that knew him would tell you that he was one of the most genuine, loyal and kind souls you could ever know. His generosity was beyond measure. If he loved you, you knew it. His smile will live on in his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his legacy was a powerful one!
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Ramada by Wyndham Venice Hotel Venezia, 425 US Highway 41 Bypass N. in Venice.
