Edward M. "Eddie" Watring

Edward Melker "Eddie" Watring, 81, of Capon Bridge, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Eddie was born on February 23, 1944, in Keyser, WV, the son of the late Elmer H. Watring and Betty Lou (Mayles) Watring. Eddie was a master mechanic specializing in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration. He previously worked for Zeigler Heating & A.C., Ray C. Lapp Heating & A.C. in Cumberland, MD, and A.B.L. in Pinto, MD. For 12 years, he owned and operated Campbell's Diversified Service (C.D.S.). Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and traveling with his wife, family & friends. He was a member of Victory Church in Winchester, VA, volunteered at the Olive Branch Food Pantry and spent precious time with his family.
Eddie married Patricia L. Heinrich Watring on September 18, 1965, in Cresaptown, MD.
Surviving with his wife of 60 years are his children, Kimberly K. "Kim" Wilder and husband Joe of Capon Bridge, WV; Thomas E. "Tommy" Watring and wife Wendy of Stephens City, VA and Susan L. Chrismore (Chuck) of Capon Bridge, WV; a brother: Elmer H. Watring, Jr. and wife Sandra of Montrose, WV; a sister-in-law: Carole Kyle in Cumberland, MD; four grandchildren, Jordan Watring (Heidi), Micah Chrismore, Amanda Chrismore (Jacob), & Brayden Wilder (Allison); two great-grandsons: Branson Jones & Joel Wilder and many nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by a brother: Rodney A. Watring.
The family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home and Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4-7 PM.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastors Keith Cross, Hartley Wigfield & Len Burdick. Interment will follow in the Timber Ridge Cemetery in High View, WV. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
