Edward Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caliman Funeral Services - Columbus on Dec. 8, 2025.
Edward Emanuel Williams, 65, was called to eternal rest on November 27, 2025 after a short but courageous battle with colon cancer.
Born on January 5, 1960 in Vivian, West Virginia to the late Thomas Henry and Anna Mae Williams, Ed was the youngest of nine children. At the age of eight, he moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio, where they became proud residents of the Southfield Community.
Edward attended Watkins Elementary School and graduated from Marion Franklin High School. Following graduation, he worked as a forklift driver for Value City Schottenstein Corporation, a position he held until becoming disabled with dementia.
On May 4, 2015, Edward gave his life to Christ and became a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Otha Gilyard. He was active in the Sunday School department and joyfully served as a mascot for the choir. He faithfully attended rehearsals and supported every special function, including Choir Day. His loved attending Shiloh and he knew Shiloh loved him.
Edward was known for his quiet spirit, warm smile, and hearty laugh. He cherished family gatherings, especially those centered around a home-cooked meal. He was a fan of Western movies and an excellent roller-skater. A true sports enthusiast, Ed loved football and basketball, and his family often joked that he could have been a coach given his deep understanding of plays and penalties.
He was a coloring book enthusiast. He enjoyed coloring his favorite Marvel characters Ironman, Spiderman, and the Fantastic Four, as well as classic muscle cars. A diehard Michigan Wolverines football fan, Ed always cheered them on when they played Ohio State, bringing rivalry and laughter to the house on game days.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Henry and Anna Mae Williams, brothers Wilbur and Alphonso Williams, and sister Tina Williams.
He is survived by his sister Mary Williams of Sacramento, CA; brothers Alfred Williams, John H. (Dorothy) Williams, Robert (Rose) Williams, and Harry (Therassa) Williams of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law Lorraine Williams of Sacramento, CA; special nieces Alatrus (Buttons) Williams, Tiara Williams, and Valecia Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Clopton family-Phil, Eloria, Austine, Amanda, Adam, and Addison-and to Christopher Byrd Vincent and Kimberly Canada for their continued love and support. Special appreciation is given to Pastor Dudley and Deacon Dunn of Shiloh Baptist Church for their prayers and visit during Ed's illness, and to the members of Shiloh Baptist Church for their love, support, condolences, and gifts. The family also wishes to thank Caliman Funeral Services for their compassionate arrangements and exemplary service during this time of bereavement.
Edward's life was full of love, family, and laughter. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of EDWARD, please visit our floral store.
