Edward Franklin Wilson, born on November 3, 1934, in Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in Concord, North Carolina, on November 23, 2025. Edward lived a life defined by kindness, devotion, and a commitment to his faith, having given his life to Christ 55 years ago.
As the proud owner of his own heating and air business, Edward was a testament to hard work and perseverance. Friends and family remember him as a man who always had a kind word to offer and a knack for looking out for those he loved. Known for his strong will and sense of humor, he brought joy and laughter into the lives of many around him.
Edward had a variety of interests that brought him great pleasure. He enjoyed smoking cigars while relaxing on his front porch swing, a beloved pastime that reflected his love for the simple moments in life. His passion for motorsports was evident as he frequently attended and watched NASCAR events, sharing in the excitement of the races with family and friends.
He is survived by his cherished daughters, Reba (Ronnie) Martin, Brenda (Craig) Tate, and Lorie (Nathan) Rutledge. Edward was a devoted grandfather to Jennifer (John) Manson, Nichole (Andy) Tucker, Jeremy (Michelle) Ferris, Ashley (Jay) Moon, Heather (Adam) Roof, Jordan (Austin) James, Allie (Seth) Williams, Aaron (Chelsea) Rutledge and Ryan (Erica) Rutledge, along with an impressive legacy of twenty-eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Wilson and Mamie Ella Cochran Wilson, and his eleven siblings. He will also be remembered for his great-grandson, Chandler Craig Moon, who has preceded him in death.
A visitation in honor of Edward Franklin Wilson will be held on November 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Chapel located at 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078.
His memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched with his gentle spirit and unwavering love. Edward Franklin Wilson will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
