Edward Winer

Edward Lewis Winer, born November 7, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, was a man of exceptional charisma and creativity whose adventurous spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many. Throughout his 82 years, Edward embraced life with a contagious enthusiasm that inspired those around him. As a member of the Adath Jershurun Synagogue, he embodied the Talmudic teaching, "As a tree of life to those who take hold of it, and happy are all who hold it fast." (Proverbs 3:18) His love for life was evident in his various passions, from his avid attendance at the Minnesota State Fair to his love for photography, exercise, travel, and gardening.

Edward was a beacon in his family and his professional life. He is survived by his children: Lisa (Brett) Scholder, Stephen (Julie) Winer, and Tara Winer, his grandchildren: Raquel Winer, Madison Scholder, Rebecca Scholder, and Mya Scholder, and his siblings: Geraldine (Mercer) Hill, and Diana Winer. He also leaves behind a legacy in the hearts of his nieces and nephews: Dan Hill, Barbara Bakal, Laura Barmash, Barry Riven, Les Riven, Sheryl Lavine, and Eric Jerde. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Edith Winer, his sister, Evelyn Guernsey, and his nephew, David Hill. His professional accomplishments as a lawyer, including being selected as one of the top 10 divorce lawyers and top 100 best lawyers in the U.S., being a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and his active involvement in the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa, all attest to Edward's dedication to career success and education.

Funeral service in memory of Edward is MONDAY, November 17th, 12:00 noon at ADATH JESHURUN CONGREGATION, 10500.Hillside Ln W., Minnetonka. and also available livestream (see link below), SHIVA Monday evening 7 pm at Adath Jeshurun .In these moments of remembrance, let us celebrate the life of a man who truly lived every day to the fullest, who found joy in the simplest of things, and who, in his charismatic, creative, adventurous, and generous way, made an indelible mark on the world.
