Lyle was in Colorado for a wedding and called me to see if I wanted to get together for dinner. While waiting for him in the lobby of his hotel, I tried to remember if he was a hugger or a shaker. ( I hadn´t seen him in 10 years) When the elevator doors opened I stuck out my hand and he laughed, put me in a bear hug, gave me a big squeeze and lifted me off my feet and spun me in a circle. ( I´m 6´4" 210 lbs) We argued about who got to pay for dinner ( he paid when I got up to use the restroom) I got lost on the way back to his hotel (he asked "have you really lived here 10 years?") we spent the rest of the evening and the wee hours of the morning drinking massive amounts of coffee and talking about the Live from New Hope gang and the early days. RIP Lyle, love ya bro...

Even though we didn´t keep in contact much the last few years it still breaks my heart to hear. He would text me every now and then for birthdays or holidays. You know life gets busy as you get older and when you don´t see or talk to someone for a while you kinda forget how much time you actually spent with them. It feels so long ago yet just yesterday at the same time. I was just thinking of him the other day and then received the news of his passing. Finding this out brings back so many memories. I cherish the old Harley Davidson shirts I have that he gave me from his travels and will always remember how I loved the smell of the garage, Motorcycle rides, Eating Popsicles, and Watching The grinch. I remember the garden and eating all of the tomatoes, Running back and forth from his house to his parents with my cousins, and Having dinner at the folks with his parents every monday night. Even as we got older he would bring my cousins and I on dates to catch up every year. I have had many fond and core memories with him and around him, those are just a very small part. Throughout the years I´ve had dreams that take place at his house, I can remember exactly how it all looked. All I knew Lyle was loving to us kids and even tho we never called him grandpa he was pretty close to one at that time in our lives. I hope he is at peace. Sending love to his family and other close people in his life. <3

I am saddened to hear of Lyle's passing. For some years he was a positive influence for my eldest child, Ivy. We shall remember the wonderful and happy times we all had together eating at John and Arlene's, growing fresh vegetables, and of course him teaching Ivy how to work on the motorcycle or swear.
