On January 21, 2025, we lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edward A. Witucki, at the age of 87. A lifelong resident of Bay City, Michigan, Edward was born on February 3, 1937, to the late Steve and Helen (Kolasa) Witucki.
Edward was a proud U.S. Army veteran and a member of PLAV Chapter #162. He dedicated 38 years of unwavering service to General Motors-Saginaw Steering Gear, where he was admired for his hard work and commitment.
Family meant everything to Ed. He is survived by his cherished wife, Rose Marie Len, with whom he recently celebrated 65 years of marriage, on November 21, 1959, a testament to their enduring love.
A true sports enthusiast, in his younger years Edward found joy in playing softball, golf, and bowling, scoring two perfect 300 games. He was also a passionate follower of all Detroit sports teams. Polka dancing and family poker nights were his favorites, bringing laughter and joy to those around him.
Ed will be remembered for his love of family trips to Las Vegas and the tradition of weekly "Safety Meetings" that brought everyone together. His life was one of love, dedication, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rose Marie, three sons: David (Cindy), Kenneth, and Steve (Jill) Witucki, four grandchildren: Allissa (Adam) Copeland, Gerik, Paige, and Jacob Witucki, two great grandsons, Austin and Aiden Copeland, brother-in-law Wallace Hecht, many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents Steve and Helen, four brothers: Ervin (Mary), Clarence Grace), Raymond (Germaine), and Gerald (Barbara) Witucki, father and mother-in-law Casimer and Phyllis (Jankowiak) Len, sister in-law Anne Marie Hecht (Len) and niece Judy Telfor.
Edward's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at McLaren Hospice, Bay County Medical Care Facility-2 West, and our special neighbors Jim, Dennis, and Rick.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Nicholas Coffaro will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum. Military honors, under the auspice of the Bay County Veterans Honor Guard and US Army will be held immediately after Mass at church. Family and friends will gather at the church on Tuesday, January 28th from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations to OLC Parish or McLaren Bay Medical Foundation.
