Edwin Robert Aronhalt died on January 9th at Commonwealth Senior Living in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ed was born September 25, 1937, in Cumberland, Maryland to William and Viola Aronhalt. He graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1955 and joined the US Air Force. After completing his service, he attended and graduated from Strayer College in Washington, DC. In 1963, he married Kay Aronhalt, his beloved wife of 61 years. Ed worked during his long career as a Certified Public Accountant, the majority of which was as a partner at Aronhalt, Stringer and Co. until he retired to provide care for Kay.
Ed was a man of quiet faith and served at both Bethany Lutheran Church, Forestville, Maryland and St. Nicholas Lutheran Church, Huntingtown, Maryland in many financial roles assisting with audits and often found after church counting the offering. Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Viola Aronhalt; his brothers, Bernard Aronhalt (Jean), and Leroy Aronhalt (Mary); his sister, Frances Marotte (Harry); and his daughter Sheri Smith. He leaves behind his daughter Susan Lynne Aronhalt of Palmyra, Virginia; grandson Zachary Robert Smith (Lakin) of Boydton, Virginia; and his great grandchildren, Oliver and Korra Smith.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Nicholas Lutheran Church, Huntingtown, MD.
