Edwin C. "Eddie" Baser, 83, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away at Northcrest Care, surrounded by his family, on February 26, 2025. He was born in Perrysburg, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Frances (Coppler) Baser. On September 15, 1978, Eddie married Linda Wachtmann at the United Brethren Church in Cygnet, Ohio.
Eddie worked for several places throughout his life, including Cains Potato Chip Factory, Quadco Services where he met his wife, and was a security guard for Edison. He was a member of True Believers Church and Zion Church of God. Eddie enjoyed watching the 202 train go by and working on cars. His love of travel led to him being a living road map that knew where everything was. Eddie would also talk to truck drivers on the CB and give them directions. He enjoyed polka dancing at the Radish festival and the Bavarian House with the "Betty Polka Band." Often times he would sit in with the bands playing the harmonica or tambourine. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching TV, especially Ohio State games and Eddie never missed watching the seasonal airings of the Ten Commandments and the Wizard of Oz.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Teresa Baser, Cindy (Tyler Shellenbarger) Baser, and Robert (Samantha) Baser; grandchildren, Anna, Johnathon, Zechariah, Isaiah, Mackenzie, and Michael; great grandchildren, Malachi and Ezekiel; sister, Edna (Frank Barnes) Tully; and best friend, Barbara Hough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Baser.
A Celebration of Life will be held at True Believers Church, Holgate on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online messages and condolences may be shared with the family at rodenbergergray.com
