He was born on December 3, 1939, in Herrick, Illinois, to Charles Dickerson and Ruth Agnus (Lankford) Bryson. Edwin married Loraine Allen on November 2, 1957, in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Loraine Bryson of Morton; children, Ed (Nancy) Bryson, Jerry (Holli) Bryson, Jeffery (Kris) Bryson and Lori (Tim) Simpson, all of Morton; grandchildren, Ryan Bryson, Adam Bryson, Violet (Justin) Melvin, Rebeka Bryson, Race (Meghan) Bryson, Amelia Bryson, Austin (Kelsey) Simpson, Megan (Daniel) Garber, Dylan Simpson and Josiah Simpson; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Elaine (Leo Dean) Redman.
Edwin was preceded in death by one grandson, Nicholas Bryson and one brother, Chuck Bryson
Edwin was a manager for Rocket Motor Freight Trucking Company.
Edwin attended First Baptist Church in Morton.
A private family graveside service will be held at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Morton or Pathway Ministries.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
