Edwin Burch Obituary
Edwin "Pete" Walter Burch, age 84 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Pete was born in Warrensburg, New York to the late Ray and Elizabeth Weaver Burch. He worked as a general contractor. Pete enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his sister and other veterans and also reading and cutting metal. He is a United States Army veteran and served two tours in Vietnam. Pete loved participating in the 'Toys For Tots' program and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Barrett Burch; a brother, Robert Burch; and two sisters, Joan Burch and Ruth Raymore.
He is survived by his sons, Chad Burch (Tonya), Peter Lee Burch, Johnnie Burch (Jeanette) and Michael "Andy" Burch (Kim); his sister, Myrna Oatman (Tom); several grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
An inurnment at Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
