If you met Edwin (Skip) Dirkes Jr, you'd remember him. Whether it was his talent playing the guitar, his smooth singing style, and his ease at starting conversations, even with complete strangers. How he enjoyed jamming and performing with the Marine Hills Folk Jam, and for his passion for cowboy movies. He was a friendly, competent businessman, a loyal & generous friend, someone who will step forward at any time to help anyone in need.
If you met Edwin Dirkes, you'd remember him. How he enjoyed telling corny jokes and stories about his time in college, about his life in the Air Force, his enjoyment going charter boat fishing in Ucluelet, British Columbia with his cousin Carl. How he talked about the folks he met in the Philippines who treated him like family. And you'd remember him for his walks with his friends at Redondo beach, where he always stopped to greet and chat with regular walkers on the boardwalk.
If you met Edwin Dirkes, you'd remember him. You would remember that he was a kind and generous man. He cherished his friends, and he loved his family. He will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched.
