Edwin L. Ennis, 86, a native of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Anderson, South Carolina. Born on May 20, 1939, Edwin graduated from Commercial High School and went on to a long and dedicated career in the shipping industry. A lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan, he especially enjoyed football Saturdays and celebrating a Dawg victory.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Gloria Heape Ennis, he is survived by his daughters Terri Ennis Wozniak (Jim Wozniak) and Shane Ennis Halvorson (Marc Halvorson), sons Darryl Ennis (Jay Yates) and Gene Martin (Carmen Box Martin), brother Charles Ennis (Bernie Colclasure), five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Holland Ennis and Maggie Edenfield Ennis. Sauls Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In keeping with Edwin’s wishes, no service will be held. In remembrance of Edwin’s life, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
