Edwin Jay Holstege

Edwin Jay Holstege, 85, of North Blendon, was received into his Heavenly Home Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Ed was born on the family farm in Allendale on September 4, 1937, to John and Margaret (Hassevoort) Holstege. Ed loved farming his entire life. Ed worked for Herman Miller for 32 years before his retirement. He was the Herman Miller Employee of the year in 1982. He married Winn Grassmid on January 22, 1957. Ed and Winn are members of Rusk Christian Reformed Church. Ed was a lifelong Rusk CRC member and served on the church council as both an elder and a deacon. He also served on the Borculo Christian School Board. Ed was a quiet and humble servant. He was a strong man of faith, and he dearly loved his family. Ed was preceded in death by siblings: Shirley Berens, Arlyn Holstege, Ron Holstege, Gord Holstege; in-laws: Justin Berens, Lois Holstege, Jeanne & Jerry Talsma, Bern Grassmid.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Winn, their children: Rick Holstege, Randy and Cheri Holstege, Sher and Rodney Rouwhorst, grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Cody and Janelle Holstege (Evie, Zach, Brooke, Levi), Casey & Megan Holstege (Rylea, Mason, Haven), Clint & Laura Holstege (Finley, Hailey). Siblings: Al & Glenda Holstege, Jer & Hilda Holstege; in-laws: Judie Holstege, Connie Holstege, John & Donna Grassmid, Ron & Ruth Grassmid; and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Ave., Allendale MI 49401. Visitation will be Monday, 1-3 & 6-8 pm, and Tuesday 10:00-10:45 am at Rusk CRC. Interment will be in Rusk Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rusk CRC, Borculo Christian School, or Hospice of Holland. Arrangements are by Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464.
