Edwin Lewis Obituary
Gene was an incredible worker who always took care of his family. He was an avid lover of NASCAR and thoroughly enjoyed driving his own race car, number 21, throughout his youth. He recently celebrated 60 years of marriage with his loving wife.
Gene is survived by his wife, Helen; his daughters, Felicia Lewis McKinney, Cheryl Lewis Ashley, and Genna Lewis; his sisters, Margaret Eloise Reed, and Cecillia (Howard) Pruett; his brother, Tommy (Diane) Lewis; his grandchildren, Josh, Madeline, Santana, Hillary, Jacob, Kyler, Nicolas, Lily, and Luke; and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Jonas, Jack, Jake, Elora, Johnny, Emory, Danica, and Gabriel.
Pallbearers will be Kyler Lewis, Nicolas Lewis, Luke Lewis, Vance Lewis, Josh Ashley, Jacob Ashley, Jake Bradley, and Lane McNew.
The family wishes to express great appreciation to Dr. Gerald Day and Dr. Jason Thompson for the excellent care they have given.
Gene was greatly loved and will be missed greater.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Pastor Donny Mooney will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
