Ed Maw, 73, passed away with his family by his side October 8,2024. He was born in Chelan, Washington in 1951, to Vernon and Neva Maw. He joined three older sisters. The family lived in Mansfield, WA where he grew up and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1969. He attended Wenatchee Valley College. He worked for Western Farm Service while attending Columbia Basin Community College taking the Ag, Chem, Business program graduating in 1976. Ed began working for Douglas County Road Department in 1977, retiring in 2006.
He married Jeanmarie Sprauer, September 12, 1974 in St Joseph Catholic Church, Waterville, WA. They made their home in the Tri Cities while Ed attended college. Upon Ed's graduation in 1976 they moved to Mansfield living in the house built by his parents. Two children were born of this union. They moved to the Soap Lake area in 2011.
Ed enjoyed golfing, fishing, following his grandchildren's activities and spending time with his family and his many close friends. He is remembered for his quick wit, his love of sports, and the fact that he never met a stranger. He loved to make his sisters laugh during serious sibling photos. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Ed is survived by his wife Jean, of 50 years. Children; Katie (Travis) Ogle of Ephrata, and Russell (Sara) Maw of Greenacres, WA. Grandchildren; Hunter Ogle, Cody Ogle, Kasen Maw, Livy Maw, and Mica Maw. Sisters; Ruth Fisher of East Wenatchee, Jeanette (Dell) Cavadini of Mansfield, and Nancy McDanold of Marysville, WA, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mansfield Vol. Fire and Ambulance and St. Rose of Lima Catholic School (520 Nat Washington Way, Ephrata, WA 98823).

Our first memory of Ed was when they moved in across the street for the winter months. Ed was always meeting everyone with a Hi. I would love it when happy hour drew near and Ed would grab his chair and cooler and off he would go to find happy hour. Such a kind and sweet man.
